AMENDMENT No. 1 PROPOSED TO

House Bill NO. 555

Amend by striking all after the enacting clause and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

SECTION 1. Section 47-5-911, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides for the repeal of Sections 47-5-901 through 47-5-909 authorizing the housing of state inmates in county jails, is repealed.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

Further, amend by striking the title in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 47-5-911, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH REPEALS SECTIONS 47-5-901 THROUGH 47-5-909, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, AUTHORIZING THE HOUSING OF STATE INMATES IN COUNTY JAILS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
